He likes to write about flowers in songs
Regards himself as a gentleman
Playing music it’s all he can
But sometimes it feels wrong

He comes up with lines that make no sense at all
To keep the message a secret one
Comes up with clichée hooklines
It’s like many lyrics are done

The artist as an old man
He ain’t here for success anymore
Full of ideas nobody wants to hear
It’s just himself that he plays for

It’s art to make something out of nothing
To put emptiness in lovely words
But most often it doesn’t matter what he sings
he thinks
And yes, it hurts

He likes to be a poet,
some of the famous ones
But who needs poets nowadays
This dream is forsaken
and his old days are grey

He likes to be a superstar sometimes
And then he doesn’t care at all
If somebody reads his lines
It’s just an echo of an ego that calls

It’s a replacement of shelter a song
since there is no one at his side
even though it’s rubbish that he wrote
